Subject: VB minilite copies

Has anyone purchased the Minilite copies sold by Victoria British?
They currently have on sale 13x5 for $120 and 14x5.5 for $140.
I called Rick at Sunbeam Specialties to ask if he were familiar with the
wheels. He said that he had a customer who bought 2 wheels from VB a number
of years ago and had problems with fitment at the rear due to brake drum
interference. Rick said his customer then bought another pair a couple of
years later, assuming the fitment problem would have been fixed (after
complaining about it). Needless to say, it had not. The guy had to have
his wheels machined on the inside in order to get them to fit.
I called VB and got the answer I expected. "We don't have a tech line and
cannot answer questions about application, installation or problems with a
part." "If the wheels don't fit, just send them back." The kind of
treatment you'd expect from a big, impersonal corporation unconcerned with
customer needs.
Does anyone have first-hand knowledge of these wheels and whether or not
they will fit a Sunbeam?
Could someone who subscribes to the Tiger list please forward this to it?
Thanks.
