Steve:
Been-there -done-that with all the sports cars that I have owned over the
years. I think the only cars that were Show Room Stock were the cars that were
still in the show room. The first thing that any of us did back then was to
personalize them in some way including most of the things that you outlined. The
only thing that we needed, in this part of the country, that you got rid of was
the heater. I use the one in my TIGER during every month that I drive it.
We just got back from a run up the Rock Mountain Parkway; Saskatchewan River
Crossing to Jasper Park with the heater on all the way. This is one of the
world's ten best drives. The TIGER was accompanied by three MGs and a big Healy.
300 miles of top down, sunshine, snow piled besides the road and almost no
tourists. We ran for a good part of the way with the speedo needle pointing at
the cigarette lighter. What a buzz. Two of the MGs suffered a bit from running
at speed so the Healy and the TIGER ran the last two hours home together while
they limped on in. The 30% SROD transmission was wonderful - about 75 MPH @ 2700
RPM. As I said what a buzz but we did need the heater.
Godspeed
Jc
