Steve,
It may very well be the soft top causing the problem. When I put the hardtop
on the problem goes away. I bought this car from the PO March 8. It turned
out the PO was the original owner. He bought the car new from Larry Reeds
Sports Cars March 10, 1967. He told me he had never used the soft top. It
had never been taken out of its storage area. When I got it I pulled the
soft top out and cleaned it up. I got it up and working but it has shrunk
and there are some stress tears above the driver. It is the drivers side
that I am having a problem getting the window to seal. I have replaced the
weatherstripping on the soft top and around the door. But if I understand
you, it sounds as if the soft top might be the culprit . Still not sure what
to do. I plan to replace the soft top and restore the hardtop. Looks like
the soft top comes first. Thanks for the input.
