The 22nd SHELBY TEXAS NATIONALS - October 22nd, 23rd & 24th 1999

Times change and so have we, but our down home traditons are staying the
same. The 22nd Shelby Texas Nationals have undergone major renovation and
we think you'll like it. We have teamed up with the newly built Motorsport
Ranch, an exclusive members only, state of the art 1.7 mile road course just

south of Fort Worth, to sanction an open track event. Just to give you an
idea,
the track is 40 feet wide with elevation changes and was paved by the same
high
tech company that paved Indy. It's new and we will be there for two days.
But
the weekend will be the same easy going, glad to see ya homecoming as
always.
If you always had a good time at the Texas Nationals or heard what a great
time
it is, mark your calender for October 22nd, 23rd, & 24th for the 22nd Shelby

Texas Natonals.

This will be a benchmark year with the open track. The many other traditions

will continue: the social hour, the banquet, special guest speakers, and the
car
show on Sunday. In fact, Carroll Shelby calls it one of his favorite events
and
has participated for the last several years. We are proud to host all Ford
powered
vehicles so don't hesitate to join in and create some history while the
proceeds
go to the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation.

For the seventh year, our headquarters hotel will be the Doubletree hotel at

Lincoln Center in Dallas. It provides spacious parking with close proximity
to
Dallas finest shopping and entertainment, plus easy access to all
expressways.
The Doubletree is located at the intersecton of LBJ Expressway (I-635) and
the
Dallas North Tollway. Included in this package is your registration,
information
on the performance events and maps for your convenience. If you have
questions or comments, please write to the Shelby Cobra Association of
Texas,
P.O. Box 800725, Balch Springs, TX 75180, or call the SCAT/Texas Nationals
Hotline at (972)-289-4336 or E-mail us at SCATMAIL1@aol.com. As the event
nears, the latest information about SCAT and the Shelby Texas Nationals will
be available by recorded announcement. Leave a message if you need to.
Bring
yours cars and your family to the 22nd Shelby Texas Nationals and take the
memories home with you!!!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Well, if you read all that, you must be interested. Sounds like a possible
annual event
for us South-Central Tiger enthusiasts. I plan to join this club and get my
Tiger on the
track. Hope to some of you there also.

Later,
Mark
