Yes, but....

It will sound better, probably perform better, and eliminate the possibility of
dropping the tranny out the bottom trick.

On my custom sports car, with the Fiero V6, I built the "H" pipe using very 
short
stubs and 2 eared flanges on both pipes.  The center connecting pipe, likewise, 
had
flanges.  They bolt together, and come apart easy enough to allow blocking the 
hole
with a flat plate, or dropping a tranny.


Did the same with the Cat converters and mufflers.  No more 'hot-wrench'
disassembly.  Was worth the effort then, should be worth the effort now.
