My Tiger has the cable mechanism, and a little piece of .025" wire that
loops around the release lever, goes through a hole drilled in the
sheetmetal above the cowl, and ends in a loop there, so if something does go
wrong with the cable, you can fish the wire out from the gap between the
hood and the cowl, and open it that way. This idea still assumes that the
latch is properly adjusted in the first place.
