Because of the volume of requests I've had for this information, I am posting
this
question/response to the list for any who are interested.

Cliff,

This is NOT a standard replacement core, ordered by part number. It is custom
built to the dimensions supplied by the radiator shop from the Modine Custom
Department, not their OEM department. While they do not actually make the
radiator from scratch, they do go to the high density, high performance core
stock, which is probably made in large, mulit-car sizes, and the appropriate
size
is cut from the stock, the fins are pealed back to expose the tubes, and the
ends
are cut to the header tank dimensions and the core is hand brazed to their
custom
fabricated end that mates with your tanks.

This cost me $321 in 1996, with no removal/installation labor, . It is custom
built. If you have a reputable radiator shop, that regularly uses Modine, and
has
had experience with custom orders for special vehicles, so they know the correct
Custom Order Department, they can get it for you. The core is "Special Order
Department High Efficiency Core, 5/16 tubes on 3/8 centers with 14 fins/inch."

The shop that did it for me is a first rate , and does custom work for hot rods,
Lotus racing cars, etc. This is the kind of shop you need. It isn't fancy, it's
just they have these race and rod customers and know how to do this. They will,
if you are interested, take your old radiator and UPS the rebuilt one to you.

And there are suppliers of custom aluminum cores. Just like you can order an
aluminum radiator from the speed shop catalogs, by reputable manufacturers, you
can only get them for Chevy's and sometimes Fords, but nothing custom. You've
got
to go to the factory, or in this case the specialty radiator shop for a Tiger
one.
I've talked to a few of the Aluminum houses and they refer me to their
re-seller,
who is usually someone you know from the list, so you know that they know what
they are doing.

If you want to talk to my shop directly, the radiator shop is "Commercial
Radiator
Service, 864 Los Angeles Avenue., Simi Valley, CA 93065, (805) 527-3332. Ask
for
Ken, the specialist on Tigers, or Dick, the owner.
