Well, I just got out my old "How to rebuild your Small Block Ford" book by
Tom Monroe.

Here is what it says:

Model Bore Deck Height
221 3.50 8.206
255 3.68 8.206
260 3.80 8.206
289 4.00 8.206
289 HP 4.00 8.206
302 4.00 8.206
302 (73 - 76) 4.00 8.229

So I would say that the crank would fit ok. You should look at making sure
that the piston - rod combo puts the top of the piston at the same deck
height. The pin location on the 260 pistons may be in a diffrent location,
but if it is the same as the 289/302 then you may be ok. Do lots of figuring
before investing though.

As to how much added displacement.
Disp = 8 * (pi/4) * bore * bore * stroke
       = 8 * 3.1415/4 * 3.8 *3/8 * 3 = 272.2 cid (gain 12 cubic inches)

Is it worth it? Prolly not. If you are serious about a bigger motor, I have a
5 bolt 289, hipo crank, 11.5 pistons, old crane ram sonic cam, solid lifters,
200 hp heads reworked by port matching, adding 3/8 screww in rocker studs,
Boss 302 oil pan, that I'll let go cheaply. All needs rebuild and lots of
freshening up.
