Allow me to announce the First Annual Ole Olson Memorial Lobster Run.
This “road trip” / dining extravaganza will take place a week from today,
Sunday, February 13, 2000. We will drive from San Diego to Puerto Nuevo for
an early lobster dinner, with some “rest and libation” stops along the way.
This is truly a fun event where we will celebrate the life and times of Ole
Olson, the founder of the Sunbeam Owners Group of San Diego. Ole really
enjoyed the annual Lobster Run, and to honor his contribution to SOGSD as
well as to all British Marques in San Diego, we have decided to open up this
club event to all takers. Plan on the event taking a total of about seven
to eight hours.
We would like to have a good turn out, so if you can, please join us. Come
even if your LBC is up on blocks. Hell, I drove my Exploder last year!
We will meet in the parking lot on the WEST side of Montgomery Wards in
Mission Valley, just off of Interstate 8, just a few miles east of
Interstate 5. Veteran Chrysler/Rootes Group Rallye Racing driver Scott
Harvey will be leading the pack with his race-prepped green Alpine. (At
least, I think he will be driving the Alpine.)
