I have a question I was hoping I could get some help with. My
speedometer needle jumps as I drive down the road. I have pulled the
speedometer to plan on sending it to Mo-Ma's to be rebuilt, but, I tried
to contact them but no answer yet. Now I wonder if it may not be the
speedo at all but the cable so I pulled the cable out of the sheath to
clean and lubricate it. Looks very good, no burs, no frays. I cleaned
it by wiping it off and put wheel grease on it for lube. I tried to get
it back in the sheath. No way, it went about 18" and wouldn't go any
further.
    1) Maybe too much grease?
    2) Is the problem is in the sheeth/cable and not the speedo?
    3) Should I try to clean out the sheath, by discounting it from the
tranny and running a rag/cleaner through it to remove any blockages?
    4) Don't the one end of the cable connect at the tranny under the
carpet on the drivers side between the shifter and console and can I
remove the carpet to disconnect it to clean it?
    5) Or do I need to get under the car to disconnect, or is this
necessary?
    6) And lastly what is the best course of action I need to
take??????
I'm getting close to completing the restoration and have several
loose ends.
Thanks, for any and all replies in advance!!!!!
Mark
