Les,
        Put a floor jack under the lower A-arm and jack it up. Use the tire
to wiggle the suspension joints thru the spindle. Any 'slop' in the system
will be visibly noticeable. By rotating up and down you can see / feel slop
in the brake rotor bearings and the ball joints and by moving it forward
and aft you will see / feel the slop in the tie rod ends.
