I have just got back from a fortnights holiday and been catching up on my e
mails. Forgive me for raising a subject that was discussed while I was
sunning myself on a beach, but in my South African Tiger I have what I
believe to be the original engine, and it is painted light blue which
according to the BoN should be black. Before chasing shadows I should double
check the engine number; where on the block will I find it? The shade of
blue I would call Duck Egg, does this sound like the right Ford shade?

Steve, on your petrol smell, I had exactly the same, and the smell got
really bad when cornering hard (quite often :>). I eventually traced it to
the fuel level sender unit not being screwed in hard enough. Worth a look.
