Gary,

The original Tiger oil filter had a cast iron part that fit against the
block, a double hose assembly leading to a filter assembly mounted to
the left front cylinder head casting.

That assembly consisted of stamped steel brackets mounted on the head, a
holding strap around the filter body, and a cast aluminum top, with
large steel hex nut ended attaching part that mounted the aluminum top
and hose to to the filter. The hoses fit on this top, and one end was a
curved steel tube that mounted on the top of the casting and threaded
into the filter.

Both the iron casting at the block and the aluminum casting on the
remote filter had casting numbers.

Aftermarket remote aluminum filters, made in the US for remote filters
and coolers, were also available after-market, and the single, or dual
filters were usually mounted on the left fender inner panel, sometimes
inside the wheel well.

I hope this answers your question.

Steve
