Ron,

Do you have an ISBN # for that book?

        Another engine book is;
Mustang and Ford Small Block V8 1962 - 1969 by Bob Mannel from RPM Press
in
Tennessee.

This book is 8.5 x 11 and 1.5 inches thick. I think I paid $45 for it 4
years ago and I do not know if it is still in print.

This is a very detailed book about 221 - 302 engines, each
chapter
covers one year, deciphers manufacture date codes and details Ford part
numbers for all the engine and accessory parts. It is a very intense
dissertation about Ford small blocks and contains a huge amount of
information with thousands of pictures.
It also has 42 pages section about the 289 HiPo engine, which
began
production in Dec. of 1962 at the Cleveland Plant. There are
descriptions
of the extra inspection steps of parts and the process for their build,
plus
all the Ford part numbers and Muscle part numbers that were available.
This is a great book for engine details. How to Build a
Small
Block Ford gives you all the detail steps you need to disassemble,
inspect
then build your small block Ford engine.

Can anyone recommend a good book that will provide workshop information
on the Ford "K" code HIPO 289 engine?
