Kris, I frankly don't remember and would have to go back to the 
instructions.  I may have used teflon tape, but again don't remember. 
It did not leak, but you are faced with taking the engine out if it did 
leak, as the unit must fit over the trans shaft.

I used the stock trans MC, and all works fine.

The Pro 5 was what the Mustang guys swore by, and I have to admit, it is 
a bullet proof shifter, takes the banging, and you will not miss a shift.
