Jim,
I'm don't think anyone else responded to this (at least to the list).
Sorry I can't tell you how effective they are as actually driving my Tiger
is likely two or more years away, but as I recall the 6 blade Ford (the ???
8600 ??? numbered one), the Volvo fan and the Derale (spelling) were all
similar in CFM. The advantage to the Volvo fan is that it has the same bolt
spacing and more important the 1" hole needed that is not commonly found on
the Ford water pump hubs (as the Tiger has). As I am told they do not
require the hole to be machined out or the blades cut as the six blade ford
8600 fan does.
Here in So. Cal I think I have found about 4 at the local pick a parts in
the past year or two (I make about 20 trips a year). There are found on SOME
(not all - and might I add a limited "some") of the late 60's and early 70's
Volvo's with the older push rod engine. Most often it is the 142-144 (4
cylinder) or 162-164 (6 cylinder) models. I did find one on an older 122
once, BUT it had a different part number. I have never found one on an OHC
engine.
The more common number from the 140-160 series is 683541. The two I
have also have IMP #'s OF 69 34
and 73 10 respectively (likely a date code). Both numbers are located on
the center piece. The fan from the 122 has a part number of 653841 and a
secondary number of 9144580G69. This number is located on the attached
section of one of the blades and there are no numbers on the center piece.
Whether this is "factory" ( I wonder about the "144" in the secondary
number) for the 122 I'm not sure. All the fans are a noticible SAFETY
YELLOW!!! Additional they all are the same size, blade spacing and pitch.
They seem quite heavy compared to an aluminium flex fan.
  Regards, Tom Witt B9470101
