When I got my carpet kit from Sunbeam Specialties it did NOT have the
shifter
hole cut. I put a new metal "top" over the tunnel so there is no more
"step" under
the ashtray (well where the ashtray USED to be). The carpet fit perfectly
after
I modified the vinyl edged piece that used to go over the frame
reinforcement (or
whatever you call it..?) such that it lays flat next to the main tunnel
carpet piece.
Its hard to describe in text but it looks great. Maybe you can buy a new
tunnel
piece from SS or someone that sells it without the original shifter hole.
