$000 is just whatever RPM at which engine operation becomes really expensive
- much like any manifold pressure (boost) gauge ought to have '$$' at the
top end of the scale.

I too have the 6AL. The best thing is how it makes the engine run when
cold. No need for a choke at all! I assume $000 is really 8000 RPM, a
speed I hope my engine never sees because it would probably be seen only
once ;-)
