If you put a Ford V8 into it your efforts will be worth more in the end,
parts are cheap, lots of power, nice sound... It won't be easy but at least
you can have a look and see how it was done. Don't try to pass it off as a
tiger though, it's not easy since most tiger histories are known and this
group will hunt you down if you do :-) A nice Alger is worth the effort in
terms of fun and resale. cheers, derek

Hi All
Im new to this list and joined because in my experience this is the best
place to get the information you want. I do not own a Sunbeam tiger but
would like to have one I have always been interested but never pursued
it and now the prices are getting up there. I recently found a sunbeam
alpine sitting in a yard here in Vermont. Its pretty rough but can be
fixed it will never be a concourse car. The four cylinder motor is
seized and my question would be, can you put a Ford 289 and 4 speed into
an Alpine without much trouble I have read of people putting 302's and
T-5 5 speeds into Tigers so I would assume that you could put one into
an alpine body. I know that you can fabricate any motor into any car( I
was involved in putting a small block Chevy into a Mercedes 300 series
car) But I really don't want to cut the car up that bad. So any
