In July me and a friend were on our way to a big car meet ( Falsterbo Classic
& Sportscar show ). It was the first time he came along in the Tiger. When we
left the last redlight and as I was about to change into second gear we heard
a horrible sond ( have you ever turned a full toolbox up side down ? ) from
the engine compartment.
The happy wife towed us back, after starting the Porsche 914 and realizing it
was leaking too much oil for comfort we finally got there in a modern car.
Later investigations revealed a broken block, atleast one damaged piston and a
crank in two pieces.
A few weeks later I found a new engine on the internet, a 302 with 351 heads
and 380 hp to go with it.
Its installed but a few minor things remain. I hope to drive it atleast once
before x-mas.
