Expansion tank

I had to remove the radiator expansion tank and get some leaks fixed.  Now
it's time to paint it and get it back in the car.
What is the best way to paint the tank?  I can readily find high temp gloss
black and high temp clear, but what is the best primer to use to get the best
results?
