   Frank, when I installed my line I contemplated running a secondary hose
over the outside (sort of like coaxial cable). It would have extended
through the rubber gromet in the firewall about an inch so if it leaked it
would have exited in the engine compartment. Hadn't figured out how I would
hold it there, but it should have some degree of tension or sealing to keep
fumes out. The hose would have to be larger than the nut or any leak on the
upper side wouldn't drain. I guess an ounce of prevention is worth a pound
of cure. By the way, don't feel bad after I would have gotten scolded I
would have been made to clean the pants cuff myself!

I guess if there is a lesson to be learned it's "keep your nuts tight and
your hose secure or the wife will get pissed off!"
