Casey,

There is only one adjustment on the clutch. That is the length of the
pushrod. But this adjustment does nothing to change the freeplay. It just
controls where inside the slave cylinder the piston sits.
If the gears are hard to engage, that is a sign the clutch is not fully
disengaging.

By DOT 5 fluid, do you mean Silicone brake fluid? That stuff is notoriously
difficult to bleed all the air out. The variations in clutch freeplay with
temperature sounds like you still have air in the system. If I were you I
would get rid of the Silicone and use Castrol LMA fluid. It works good, is
easy to bleed, compatible with the seals and cheap. The clutch does not
require super hi temp capability like brakes do.

It not likely, but you could check for flexing or cracks in any of the
clutch parts, ie the release arm or the bracket that holds the slave
cylinder. Put the car up on jacks and have an assitant work the clutch
pedal while you watch the linkage from below.
I have had the release arm crack on other vehicles and the slave cylinder
bracket on my Tiger bent. (It was a cheesy homemade piece not the stock
casting).

Erich
