Jeff,

There are a number of great articles on this kind of swap, some using 
the 5.0L (302), and some the earlier 302 without the roller cam/tappets 
(recommended) on TigersUnited.com.

If you are not going to change the transmission CASE to a combination 5 
bolt / 6 bolt transmission end, there is a bell housing search in front 
of you.  I personally recommend swapping your mainshaft, and useable 
parts into a newer design case (watch out for the number of teeth on the 
internal speedo helical drive, or use the original from the Tiger Mk 
I/IA, to avoid large speedo errors.  The wide ratio set, as in the Mk 
II, make driving and accelerating a lot more exciting, without the 
problems of a rear end gear change (high rpm in 4th) or the change to a 
five speed.  Articles on that too.
