I noticed in the shop manual the forward leaf spring bushing has the center
sleeve off center. In other words, it is closer to the frame of the car than
the ground. The book makes it clear how to install it correctly. What is the
reason for the off center or "eccentric" bushing? What would happen if you
installed a centered bushing instead of the "eccentric" type. Looking through
a parts catalog it seems the change was made for Series 3 and later Alpines
and all Tigers.
