I drive a Diesel Excursion, anyone want to try a head on with a mini, please
let me know after so I can get some wax to remove you and the scratch. Below is
likely a very good way to put it. I do not want to hit a wall head on with
anything...

I got rear-ended in a chain reaction collision many years ago, the
wife's '89 Honda Civic SI Hatchback was accordianed between a Volvo 244
wagon and a Chevy S-10. The heavier cars suffered localized damage, mine
looked like it was out of a Looney Tunes cartoon, it's wheelbase
shortened by a couple feet on both ends. Of course there are many
factors involved and this is really anecdotal but when I imagine that
happening in a Tiger, I visualize winding up with a very warm, still
spinning 289 sitting next to me. Not a happy thought.

Pardon the kitchen physics here, but treating the collision as impulse
energy dissipation, the velocities cancel out leaving the mass
differential. I don't care how well the crumple zones crumple, I would
much rather be in my Tundra, my 1/2mv*2 being 2X bigger than the Mini's.

Although what would happen if the two should meet at 40 mph in a head on
collision is not stated.
