"Just what
the heck is the correct Ford part number for a 6 bolt block to a early
ford toploader. Anyone have a pix of the correct 6 bolt to toploader
bellhousing,
outside and inside views? SHoot me a pix or two?"

I don't know if you received the photo and info you were looking for but in
case you didn't, the CAT shop notes has photos of the dual pattern bell
housing. The part number is c5ta-6394-a and it is listed as a cast iron bell
housing with both narrow and wide bolt patterns. The one I have is c5a-6394-b
and is aluminum with both bolt patterns. It is possible my bell housing may
have had the extra bolt holes drilled and tapped by a previous owner. A couple
of years ago I called Dave Kee Top Loader specialist and asked if they had any
Ford 8 hole bell housings in stock and he said Ford never made one. Dave said
he would make me one for $275 using a cast iron one and drilling jigs. Maybe
someone has been drilling extra holes in bell housings and everyone assumes
they are factory originals. Although if you look closely you can make out the
extra bolt holes in some of the bell housings It looks like they were
filled in when cast. My digital camera is not working so I can't send you
photos.

                                             Jeff
