Dave,

I have no secrets. The whole reason we do these projects is to find out the
truth and write about it. Okay, I will admit, that especially in this case, a
small side benefit is I have ended up with the coolest car in the world (at
least my crazy world). The full story was supposed to be in the March issue of
Classic Motorsports, but it got bumped to the May issue. Dealing with the SEMA
and PRI shows and getting our Group 44 GT6 project done, set me back a few
weeks.
The engine is indeed, a 331 stroker. We wanted big power (421 hp at 6200 rpm)
but wanted complete drivability. We got that, as the compression ratio is
only about 10:1. The secret (or at least one of them) is in the heads. We used
Edelbrock's fantastic Performer heads.
The full story, as well a comparison between stock 260, mild 289 and our
engine will be in the May issue. As usual, anyone on the list who has not seen
our
magazine, can get one for free by going to our site.
