We are very fortunate to have REAL experts (BTDT). After my post on
rear axle bearings and seals, I had a nice reply from The Guy That Knows
- Tom Hall (Tiger and TAC specialist).
Apparently, I have mixed-up some of the info I got from the Tractor
People Parts Warehouse!
Tom tell us:
Unfortunately you have mixed up the replacement bearing sets in your
response. All taper bearings come in "families" with similar part
numbers. They vary in ID and OD but the bearing portion is the same.
The correct numbers for the outer axle bearings (35 on the factory
pictorial) are: Cup 14276 and Cone 14130X. The carrier bearings (10)
are: Cup 25523 and Cone 25577. This is only for OEM replacement as some
Posi carriers have different ID's and require different bearings. The
inner pinion (23) are: Cup 31520 and Cone 31593. the outer pinion (24)
are: Cup 02820 and Cone 02872.
Correct numbers will surface for the seals. Don't know if the one I
provided are correct, but if it isn't properly sealed, it will "bleed"
lubricant.
