Back in the 70s in High School days, three friends and I brought a
Triumph TR-3 body home by placing it on top of a friend's Mom's 1969 Chevy
Malibu Station Wagon's rooftop luggage rack! We did not damage her car and to
my knowledge she never learned about it. Also of note, the rear-half body
of a Bugeye Sprite will actually fit in the trunk of a 1966 Pontiac LeMans!
