Dr. Mayf,
Same 2.87" stroke with a 3.50" bore. With the same stroke, they used the same
crankshaft as the 260 and 289 and had the same deck height. They were all
five-bolt blocks.
The original heads are said to have "very small ports and closed 43.5cc
combustion chambers", but they do use the same size valves as the original
260.
I would think that any 260/289 heads would physically bolt on, subject to the
valve and combustion chamber sizes not being too big for the bore size.
It could be an interesting engine with forced induction. Let us know if you
decide to build one.
