Hi all Tiger enthusiasts,
I bought this carB model from their website,B it is on back order for their
production schedule to get started.
B
So here's some additional background to the thread, I would appreciate it if
the Yahoo Tiger forum could post this information as written by
"Automodello",B Thank You:
B
- After much internal debate we are focused on the Mark I series instead of
the Mark 1A or rarer Mark II.
- The release is currently scheduled for Spring 2012 in two colors: Red and
British Racing Green.
- The models will include the removable hardtop, so it can be displayed
hardtop in place or as a convertible.
- The Red build is 999 and British Racing Green has not been determined yet.
- The builds are not serialized, instead the packaging will say 1 of 999.
- As it states in the posting, this model choice was selected by the readers
of Hemmings Blog, Hemmings Muscle Machines and Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car in
the contest we ran April through September last year. The Tiger was a 7 to 1
favorite.
- The models are available for pre-order from Diecasm (www.diecasm.com) and
can be seen at
http://www.diecasm.com/servlet/the-Marque-%7C-Brand-cln-Sunbeam/Categories
which will also be first will all ordering updates.
- Both cars are $94.95 on Diecasm.
- Working with us on the modelbs development are Michael Riechen of XTC
Automotive in Merrillville IN completed a nut and bolt restoration of a Tiger
for a client; and, Wayne Moyer of Dayton OH who owned two Tigers (Mark I and
Mark II). When we develop models we like to involve a small cadre of
owner/restorer experts to make sure we are nailing the details correctly. For
example, with the TVR M-Series we are releasing in February we enlisted (or
drafted) an expert who has owned their M since new.

Cheers & Happy New Year to ALL !!!
Greg

withB <http://www.hemmings.com/> Hemmings Muscle Machines, the Hemmings blog
andB <http://www.hemmings.com/> Hemmings Sports & Exoticar Car to help
Automodello identify its next car to model. The overwhelming suggestion by a
margin of 7 to 1 was the Sunbeam Tiger.

Keeping with the standards set by Automodello with their previous releases,
the Sunbeam Tiger is shipped with the removable hardtop. The exterior will
be red. And the steering wheel will be on the side where most North
Americans are most likely to see it. Production is limited to a build up to
999 units.

<http://www.automodello.com/> Automodello is a manufacturer specializing in
overlooked, neglected and interesting as well as new models from British,
European, North American and other marques. Automodello's inagural 1/43
model was the 1964 Griffith Series 200 and 1/24 is the 1938 Phantom Corsair.
The Sunbeam Tiger keeps with Automodello's tradition of releasing "hybrid"
automobiles where American V8 power is mated to a sexy British and European
bodies. Automodello has engaged another dream for Hemmings' readers!
