That is an idea. I would test it without glue first.
I was thinking about doing a few experiments on this subject when I get the
time.
Maybe a rolled aluminum flashing insert might work either polished and
cleared or gloss white paint, maybe polished stainless.
The bulb holder ID is 1.8", that should have a circumference about 5.5"
length for an insert.
Food for thought.
