I don't think that Mecum is that careful with their descriptions. Last
year, I recollect they had a Tiger for sale and they claimed that the
tranny was a Borg-Warner, although the shift lever looked stock. When I
inquired, they said basically, "Well, that's what the owner said". So
much for actually crawling under the car.
I also didn't think the blue Tiger sold. The last bid was $54,000, but
it didn't meet reserve. I've had a hard time getting onto their web site
to verify as the traffic seems to be quite heavy.
