Just yesterday I was going through my spares and found an original but bent
seat panel.  The finish appears to be a very flat black with a very fine
texture to it, like they were trying to make it look like it wasn't
painted metal.  I'm pretty sure this is original since there's no trace of
a second coat of anything.  It isn't a crinkle finish, the texture is much
finer than that
