I use Evaporust mostly =E2=80=93 this is a water base solution =E2=80=93 =
it will only remove iron oxide =E2=80=93 place in suitable plastic =
container and cover the part with Evaporust let is sit overnight or =
longer. There are other names out there but look for the non-acid =
type only.

=20

If it just needs a deep lube, soak with ATF.

Subject: [Tigers] Conv. top hinge derusting

=20

Hello again,

=20

I'm looking for advise on a derusting agent I can plunge the Conv. top =
hinge (sits below the chrome B-post cap)

on all series Tigers and Alpines.

The body of the hinge is either brass or bronze and the moving parts are =
steel. Steel is very rusty and to work on it I have to derust the steel =
parts to disassemble.

=20

Any genius solutions out there?
