Will

Absolutely correct, if you=E2=80=99re paying big bucks =
for the car, these details should be correct.

It would be interesting if there were other pictures of the engine bay =
to see if there are any other errors.

=20

I believe if you checked you would find that the wires have sufficient =
length to swap them side to side. Many of the current ignition wire =
sets also have extra length to cover several engine configurations.

=20

I looked in Bob Mannel=E2=80=99s book and he lists the lengths of the =
wires.

1 =3D 28=E2=80=9D  2 =3D 23    3 =3D 26    4 =3D 23    5 =3D 24    6 =3D =
26 7 =3D 25 8 =3D 28 so yes, there is room there to swap side =
to side.

=20

The restorer should have caught that mistake.

Ron,

I agree that the wires are likely an original replacement set. Probably =
got them from CJ Pony, same as I did. I'm surprised that the lengths =
worked out with a left-right swap. Guess there's some left-right =
symmetry that I haven't heard about. My point, however, was that this =
guy is asking top dollar for the car, citing concourse wins and touting =
that the car was used as a reference for the Hagerty restoration. In =
that context it seems to me that the wire swap is a serious lack of =
attention to detail.

Will

Actually the wires are numbered correctly and they =
appear to be an original replacement set but they are on the wrong side =
of the engine.

The heater hose has the correct texture.

The coil might be a replacement with no visible ink stamp =E2=80=93 the =
coil contacts should be turned to the bottom position.

=20

I saw that Tiger on eBay too. Looked like a very original car. I noted =
though that the plug wires were numbered wrong (pic attached). You =
would think that for $135K that they could number the plug wires =
correctly.
