Nick, One thing seems to have gone by the wayside here. Keep in mind that the recommended tire pressures are a compromise between comfort and handling, usually with the weighting on comfort (IMHO). While a mechanic, even a lube guy, shouldn't automatically put in the max, I doubt that it creates a hazard.
