Subject: Reply to Magnesium Wheels...Advice
Scott,
I have a set of AREs on my 4A, that my 3B racecar was raced on for a number of
years. Don't seem to be too succeptible to warping. A couple of mine have a
small dent at the bead, but remain true.
The 8 spokes are rather rough, but meant to be a dull finish. I cleaned up my
oxidation with fine sandpaper at the smooth bead area.
I used to have a second set, but sold them 10 years ago.
I believe the magnesium can become porous, so keep an eye on the air pressure.
Only other thing to watch out for is a car fire. I hear they are "pretty" to
see burn! ;-)>
