Jim, I am about to fire up my TR-3 engine after doing my first ever re-build. I've used cast iron rings, and set the gap according to specs. The previous owner couldn't get it started after installing 83mm rings on 87mm pistons... My question is, how should I set the rings while my car is confined to the garage? Any suggestions?
