I finally took a crawl and flashlight through the barn last night to 
check out my GT6+.

1970 model
KC75121L (Comm.)
75058KD (Body)
KD75226E (Engine)

And the winning cylinder head number is:

517528

I'm 99% sure it's the original head. The PO did tell me the head had 
been off once to free up a stuck valve or two after long-term storage 
(boy, he doesn't know what long-term storage is compared to me!). And, 
FWIW, the last three numbers of that stamped part number were 
increasingly hard to discern. Wonder why?

BTW, Nick (Nora, anyone else): where is the corresponding part number on 
the "narrow-head" sixes (GT6 Mk.1, Vitesse 1600)?
