Hello all -
Well I get the next week off, oh joy! The frame ( on the 70 Spitfire ) is
done, cleaned, repaired, painted and undercoated, new lines installed and
ready for the body. Man what a messy job! Time to get all the really neat
toys out to play. The mig, sawsall, grinder, welder, spotwelder, hammer,
many ales - and beach chair. (for when all seems lost one can sit back and
contemplate the meaning of life, the airspeed of the European or for that
matter the North American swallow, or why the h--- anyone would go through
this abuse!) Hope the neighbors will be out of town for all the expletive
deleteds expected! Probably should buy stock in Band-Aid bandage co. Will
be putting the body tub back on the frame to replace both floors, inner and
outer sills, left rear wing (fender) and repair some areas on the right
wing. Clean and wirebrush the firewall then paint the entire assy with
Corroless. Ambitious, but I think I can, I think I can, I think I can. . .
ooops, been around the nieces and nephews too much! Anyway, should be ready
to sell all the Triumphs by the end of the week due to the aggravation (
just kidding )! Donning my protective gear - damn the safety nets, release
the restraints, I'm goin in! Looks dark and forbidding but I see a faint
light way down there - wish me luck and see ya' all on the other side!
Have a happy holiday season! :-)
