Nolan I hve the same trouble with my two front brake bleeds. If I turn
them out far enough to get good flow (aprox 1 turn) or put a vacuum on
fluid begins leaking around the threads. Conversely air also leaks in.
makes it very difficult to do a good job. 
        I have replaced both front bleed valves(they are availible from any
auto parts store even Autozone). What I have found that works quite
nicelyis to apply a moderate amount of grease around the base of the
valve before I start.
