I posted this a few days ago, but I don't think it got through. I
apologize if ends being a double post.

Hello! I'm finally back on the lists (been lurking for a couple of weeks).
Since finishing my graduate work at U of Michigan, I have gotten married,
moved to San Francisco, and become employed. Quite a year...

I was able to get my "Convertible GT6" through the California emissions
tests. It was close though. The car passed the idle test with flying
colors, but was near the limits on the 2500 rpm test. The thing that I
don't understand is why a car that was designed only to meet idle emissions
requirements (1971) is tested at 2500 rpm. Who develops these standards?

About BCW, I try to drive my LBC to work as much as possible - one benefit
of the Bay Area. I will say that keeping up with the 70 - 80 mph traffic
(yep, the spit/6 easily does 70 to 80) gets to be a little hard on the
hair. However, I'm sure you all understand, as I do, that this sort of
suffering is necessary to achieve the goals of BCW :-) BTW, does anybody
else have a problem with hood latches opening at higher speeds (seriously)?
