Found good paint for my TR-3A air cleaners:
1. Sherwin Williams 988 Self Etching Primer
2. Tempo Fast Dry Engine Enamel - Flat Black No. 230
Paint went on easy as soon as I had the parts to bare metal.
Cleaners look great and so far no chipping.
