Ken: I replaced the antenna on my '74 TR6 several years ago. The "new" one is a regular telescoping type which I could install through the hole in the fender. It had a little semicircular bracket on the base which swiveled. You'd put this end (w/ cable) thru the hole, and swivel the bracket so it would be flush up against the inside of the fender (sort of like a toggle bolt), then tighten a nut on the outside upper part.
