Rebuilding carbs

     A question for the collective wisdom of the list..
     
     Upon rebuilding a Zenith Stromberg carb do you use sealing compound on 
     the float bowl gasket?  If so what kind?
     
     My newly rebuilt carbs are seeping fuel from the front float bowl join 
     with my TR-6 parked steeply downhill.
