You've sparked an interest here, as my TR6 has a similar problem. My
pedal is stiff, too, but the clutch disengages quickly. I assumed that
it was something internal, like the fork.

I'm on the digest, and I haven't seen any replies to your question
regarding swelling seals. Is this what's happening? I'd really love to
find out about what you've learned!

Hi Chad and anyone else interested,

First we'll probably do what Art Kelley suggested, checking the slave
cylinder line for a kink or possible swelling. Probably a good idea to
install a new one anyways. I've heard that they can swell internally without
any obvious signs on the outside. I've also heard of people using steel
braided hose made up at a hydraulic shop, may check into that. Might be
overkill, but if the cost difference is minimal it might be worth the effort
for the long run.

If that doesn't seem to correct the problem, then we'll probably go to plan
"B" which would be the slave cylinder itself, or the master cylinder. Most
likely swelled seals I would think.
