James, If it were a MG I'd agree with "taking it to a specialist" but since your Spit has a seperate frame, you can replace the full length floorboard yourself. I know this from personal experiance. I, with the help of a freind, replace the floor in my spit in one afternoon. My only recommendation would be to keep the door closed as much as possible or keep a jack under the sill.
