I think in '72 they started with the canister on the radiator bracket,
without the nuisance valve.

Steve:

The 71 had the canister mounted as yours was.  Only the later
models had the canister mounted on the radiator.  These models
also had the "Anti-Run-On" valve mounted on the same bracket.
I believe that this configuration started in 1973.
